After taking its name from an unfinished opera, Crystal Fighters employ a range of sounds from electro to basque folk – although the latter is their prominent sound. This is made more obvious by their consistent use of the txalaparta; a traditional basque instrument.

You can hear it throughout ‘At Home’ with its distinctly organic sound or if you can’t hear, the guy with two sticks whacking what looks like a few small logs. ‘At Home’ is a simple tune that mainly relies on the txalaparta and the vocals, and apparently, that’s all you need to create a spanish lure.
