With The Postal Service unlikely to release new tracks ever again, Faded Paper Figures have come closest to replicating that expressive indie electro sound. And much like The Postal Service, the band even had to share ideas across great distances due to personal circumstances.
‘North by North’ still remains their most popular track even though it’s off their debut album, Dynamo, which was released nearly four years ago. It also reflects the philosophy of the band most accurately too. The duality between R. John Williams and Heather Alden is backlit by the dichotomy between the traditional guitar and colourful electronics.
Since then, they have released a second album, New Medium, which saw the band develop a fuller, more resonant tone. And with new tracks in the process of being mixed and polished, we should have a third instalment by the end of summer.
